Tulane Sailing Wraps Up Weekend Regattas

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University Sailing closed out racing on Sunday in the 31st Captain Hurst Bowl regatta in Hanover, New Hampshire, and in the Women's Atlantic Coast Dinghy Championship Finals in Kings Point, New York. The Green Wave finished fifth in the Captain Hurst Bowl and 11th in Women's Atlantic Coast Dinghy Championship Finals.
Tulane wrapped up with 113 total points to match Harvard and finish fifth after two days of racing on the waters of Mascoma Lake in the 31st Captain Hurst Bowl regatta. The B Division team of Peter Foley and Hope Breslin paced the Wave on the weekend finishing second in the division with a total of 24. The Tulane A Division team of Thad Lettsome and Alex Makoid and C Division team with Quinn Keenan and Essie Clifton both landed seventh in their respective divisions.
The Green Wave climbed up two spots on the second day of the Women's Atlantic Coast Dinghy Championship Finals to land 11th just eight points from a top-10 finish. Skipper Ciara Rodriguez-Horan raced with skippers Lydia Brown and Catherine Anderson to pace Tulane finishing 10th in the A division. In the B Division skippers Mia Hanes and Caroline Benson teamed with crews Ellie Spearman, Abigail Borggaard and Megan Cassidy to land 11th at the end of the weekend.
Up next, Tulane will host the Baldwin Wood Open Fleet Race on Lake Pontchartrain and send a squad to the Open Atlantic Coast Championship Finals in New London, Connecticut, from October 22-23.
