Tulane Hosts Crosstown Rival UNO on Wednesday

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University Women's Basketball returns to Uptown to host crosstown rival New Orleans for a nonconference showdown on Wednesday night. Tipoff between the Green Wave and the Privateers is set for 6 p.m. inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.

This marks the 52nd all-time meeting between Tulane and New Orleans. The Wave trails the overall series 21-30 despite winning the last four matchups. Tulane defeated the Privateers 79-56 at home in the last meeting on December 5, 2017. The Green Wave holds a 17-12 advantage over UNO at home including wins in the last 12 matchups in Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
In her 29th year at the helm of the Green Wave, head coach Lisa Stockton holds an 11-1 record against the Privateers.
Tulane went 1-1 in the Cancun Challenge last week with a 78-66 win over Central Michigan on Friday. Four players scored double figures for the Green Wave against the Chippewas with Rachel Hakes leading the way with 23 points. Marta Galic posted her third double-double of the year with 18 points and 10 rebounds while Kyren Whittington and Anijah Grant each added 13 points. Galic earned Cancun Challenge Riviera Division All-Tournament selection after averaging 13.5 points and 10 rebounds in the two games.
New Orleans enters the matchup with a 1-3 record following losses in its last two games to Grambling and Alcorn State. The Privateers are 0-3 this season on the road. New Orleans is averaging 60.3 points per game while surrendering 70.0 points to their opponents. Senior DeArica Pryor leads UNO with 19.0 points per contest on 40.5 percent shooting in three games this season.
Following the matchup with the Privateers, Tulane will host another Bayou State rival on Sunday as it welcomes LSU to Uptown. Tipoff between the Green Wave and the Tigers is set for 4 p.m.
