Green Wave Welcomes No. 11 LSU to Uptown Sunday

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University Women's Basketball will look for its third straight win as it hosts Bayou State rival 11th-ranked LSU in Uptown on Sunday. Tipoff between the Green Wave and the Tigers is set for 4 p.m. inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.

This marks the 43rd all-time meeting between Tulane and LSU. The Wave trails the overall series 9-33 with its last win over the Tigers coming on November 15, 2018, by a final score of 56-54. The Green Wave holds a 4-15 record at home against the Tigers with its last home victory in the series coming on Nov. 23, 2015, by a final score of 67-63. The last time Tulane defeated a ranked opponent also came against LSU on November 19, 2011, when the Tigers were ranked No. 20. The Wave won that contest 65-62 at home in overtime.

In her 29th year at the helm of the Green Wave, head coach Lisa Stockton holds a 9-16 record against the Tigers.

In its last time out, Tulane defeated crosstown rival UNO 90-37 at home on Wednesday night. The Green Wave shot an impressive 63.8 percent from the floor in the contest which ranks sixth in program history for a single game shooting percentage by the team. Marta Galic led all scorers with 18 points followed by Dynah Jones with 17 and freshman Amira Mabry with 14. Tulane leads the American Athletic Conference this season in assists per game (17.9) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.32) and ranks 23rd nationally in both of those statistics.

LSU enters the matchup with an 8-0 record following a 63-55 victory over Southeastern on Tuesday. The Tigers are averaging 98.3 points per game on 52.3 percent shooting from the field. LSU has scored at least 100 points in five of its first eight games this season. Five players average double figures in scoring for LSU led by Angel Reese with 23.4 points and 14.8 rebounds per contest. The Tigers rank in the top 10 nationally in 11 categories and top 25 three more so far this season including.
