Tulane Baseball to Play in Back-to-Back Midweek Contests

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University baseball team is heading to Baton Rouge to take on No. 13 LSU this Tuesday and will return home to host Nicholls State on Wednesday.

The Green Wave has enjoyed a solid start to the season and holds a 10-6 record but has suffered four straight losses including being swept by Evansville last weekend. The Wave is currently tied for third in the AAC.

Grad-transfer Carter Robinson is expected versus the Tigers. The right-hander has a 2.35 ERA over 15.1 innings including three starts.

Redshirt sophomore Ethan Groff has been a standout so far for Tulane. The outfielder is hitting .411 with nine doubles, three home runs, and 15 RBIs. Groff won back-to-back AAC player of the week awards to start the season.

LSU
THE MATCHUP
First pitch of the LSU game is at 6:30 p.m. inside Alex Box Stadium.

The matchup can be viewed on SECN+ or ESPN+ and can be heard on WRBH 88.3 FM.

Tulane and LSU have played each other 315 times dating back to the inaugural Tulane baseball season in 1893, but the two sides have not faced off since 2018. LSU leads the all-time series 181-131-3. Tulane was supposed to host LSU last season, but the game was canceled due to heavy rain.

SCOUTING LSU
The Tigers are ranked as No. 13 in the D1Baseball poll and hold a 13-3 record, including 10-0 at home.

LSU is on a four-game winning streak, including a home sweep of Bethune-Cookman last weekend.

LSU hits .321 as a group, the 19^th highest in NCAA Division I baseball and has hit 23 home runs as a team. The Tigers have four players with at least four home runs and 18 RBIs.

The Tigers are second in the SEC West, behind only No. 1 Ole Miss.

NICHOLLS
THE MATCHUP
First pitch of the Nicholls State game is at 6:30 p.m. inside Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.

The matchup can be viewed on ESPN+ and can be heard on WRBH 88.3 FM.

Tulane holds a 63-27 lead in the all-time series over Nicholls with the first matchup dating back to 1961. The last time Tulane and Nicholls played was 2019.

SCOUTING THE COLONELS
The Colonels are 9-8 and are coming off a series loss to ULM last weekend.

Nicholls hits .280 as a group and have a 5.26 staff ERA.

The Colonels sit in fifth in the Southland Conference that is currently led by UNO.
