
Tulane Sailing Competes Near and Far This Weekend

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University sailing COED team will travel to Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, to compete in the Bob Bavier Team Race hosted by the College of Charleston while the Green Wave women's team will host the Green Wave Women's Team Race in New Orleans. Both regattas will take place Saturday and Sunday, March 5-6.
In the Bob Bavier Team Race, the Wave will race against nine squads including five teams that landed in the top 20 in the final Sailing World fall rankings in No. 3 Georgetown, No. 4 Stanford, No. 10 Coast Guard, No. 11 UC Santa Barbara, and No. 20 Harvard. The regatta will take place at the Walker Sailing Complex on the waters of the Cooper River. Racing will begin at 9 a.m. both days.
Back in New Orleans the Tulane women's team will host five teams for the Green Wave Women's Race this weekend including a pair of teams that finished in the top 20 of Sailing World's rankings in No. 14 Jacksonville and No. 20 South Florida. The Green Wave will hit the waters of Lake Pontchartrain at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Following this weekend's events, the Tulane sailing team will be back in action on March 12-13 at a pair of separate events. The Green Wave women's team will race in the Navy Women's Regatta in Annapolis, Maryland, while the COED squad will travel Washington, D.C to compete in a regatta hosted by Georgetown.
