
Tulane Baseball Heads to UNO for Second Matchup of Season

GAME NOTES
NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University baseball team (22-10-1) is making the short trip to the University of New Orleans (19-10) for a midweek clash on Tuesday at Maestri Field.

The Green Wave will seek redemption against the Privateers after an eight-run defeat at UNO back in late March.
THE MATCHUP
First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

The game can be viewed on ESPN+ and heard on WRBH 88.3 FM.

Tulane leads the all-time series against UNO 82-69.
Â
This is the second clash of the year between the two clubs. The Wave fell at Maestri Field by a score of 14-6 in the first matchup. Anthony Herron Jr. went 4-4 with five RBIs and five runs scored.

HIGHLIGHTING THE WAVE
Tulane is tied for first in the AAC and has posted a 5-1 conference record so far. The Wave is 7-1 in weekend series.Â

The Green Wave hit .275 as a group and the pitching staff touts a 4.22 ERA.
Â
Redshirt sophomore Ethan Groff leads the club in average, hitting at a .409 clip. Groff has the 28th best batting average in NCAA D1 baseball. Groff is also in the top 30 in the nation in runs scored with 39 and doubles with 14.

Freshman right-hander Grant Siegel has led the staff so far and has a 1.29 ERA, the 12th lowest number in the nation. Siegel has 46 strikeouts and six walks in 42.0 innings of work.Â

Freshman outfielder Jackson Linn is hitting .378 and has driven in and scored 15 runs. Linn had seven hits last week in four games, scored seven runs, and collected five RBIs. His performance earned him a place on the AAC Weekly Honor Roll.

SCOUTING THE PRIVATEERS
UNO has won four straight, including a sweep of McNeese State over the weekend and is currently first in the Southland Conference.

The Privateers hit .288 as a team and the pitching staff has a 5.43 ERA.

Sophomore Amani Larry hits .371, the highest on the club, and leads the Privateers in runs scored with 40. Larry has scored a run in 15 straight games.

Junior Brandon Mitchell leads the Privateers in innings pitched with 40.0. The left-hander has a 3.83 ERA and has struck out 23 batters.

LAST TIME OUT
The Wave took a weekend series from USF last weekend, winning Friday, and Saturday, before dropping Sunday's contest.Â

Dylan Carmouche (4-1) pitched seven shutout innings on Saturday while striking out seven and allowing just five hits and no walks. His performance landed him a spot on the AAC Weekly Honor Roll.
