CLEARWATER, Fla. - Tulane baseball opens play in the American Athletic Conference Championship on Tuesday at 8 a.m. (CT), as it takes on Cincinnati.
TULANE HEADS TO CLEARWATER FOR THE AAC CHAMPIONSHIP

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Tulane baseball opens play in the American Athletic Conference Championship on Tuesday at 8 a.m. (CT), as it takes on Cincinnati.
TULANE HEADS TO CLEARWATER FOR THE AAC CHAMPIONSHIP
- Tulane comes into the tournament after it dropped the final series of the year to Memphis (May 19-21). Despite dropping the series to the Tigers, the Green Wave still secured the No. 5 seed in the AAC championship.Â
- The winner of the first game on Tuesday will face the winner of South Florida vs. ECU. The loser of Tuesday morning's matchup will take on the losing team of South Florida vs. ECU.
- Each game of the AAC Championship will be aired live on ESPN+. Fans can also listen on the radio by tuning into WRBH 88.3 FM.
- The title game on Sunday will be aired on ESPNews Â
- Tulane currently owns the American's fifth-best team batting average (.270) and ranks fourth in the league in overall team earned run average (4.96).
- The Green Wave leads the American Athletic Conference in doubles (121). In addition, Tulane ranks first in runs scored (367), second in the league in RBI (326), third in batter stuck out looking (127) and earned runs allowed (268)
- As a team, Tulane has turned 49 double plays which rank first in the league and 12th nationally.
- Freshman Jackson Linn leads the team with a .353 batting average, heading into the tournament. Luis Aviles ranks second on the team in batting average (.311). Aviles also leads the team in RBI (40) and homeruns (12).
- Dylan Carmouche is slated to make his team-best 15th start in the Green Wave's first game of the tournament.Â
- Tulane will make its seventh appearance in the American Athletic Conference Championship.
- The Green Wave own an all-time record of 8-12 in the league championship since making their first appearance in 2015.
- Since its first tournament appearance in 2015, Tulane has been seeded in the top three of the AAC championship four times. The Green Wave earned the No. 1 seed in the 2016 league tournament.
- This season marks the first time Tulane has earned the No. 5 seed since joining the league.
- Tulane's best run in the AAC championship came last season when the Green Wave won three games and lost to South Florida in the championship game Â
- Two Tulane University baseball players were selected to the All-American Athletic Conference baseball team on Monday, as the league announced its 2022 postseason awards.Â
- Tulane sophomore Dylan Carmouche led the way for the Green Wave being one of five starting pitchers named first-team all-conference. The Denham Springs, Louisiana native was Tulane's only pitcher to start in every weekend series of the 2022 season. He tabbed a 4.06 ERA with a 5-4 record. In 14 starts with 82.0 innings of work he gave up 37 earned runs and picked up 78 strikeouts. He was awarded AAC weekly honors four times through the season and had six games with seven-plus strikeouts. Including back-to-back starts with double-digit strikeouts versus Villanova and Dayton.
- True freshman Grant Siegel was named second-team all-conference. Siegel started the season as a relief pitcher before finding his way into the weekend rotation. With a 7-1 record and 59.2 innings of work Siegel managed a 3.02 ERA. During the season the RHP found himself on the AAC weekly honor roll in back-to-back weeks after his performances against Dayton and Memphis.
- Tulane was the only school in the conference to place a starting pitcher on both the first and second postseason all-league teams.
