
Tulane Squares Off with Bradley in SoCal Challenge Monday Night

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. – Tulane University men's basketball will look to start 4-0 for the first time since the 2020-21 season as it faces Bradley in the SoCal Challenge Monday night in The Pavilion at JSerra Catholic High School.

The game between the Green Wave and the Braves is set to tipoff at 7:30 p.m. PT/9:30 CT on CBS Sport Network. Fans can also listen to the action live on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield on 104.1 The Spot with the Voice of the Green Wave Corey Gloor or streaming on the Tulane Athletics App and The Varsity Network App.

This marks the fifth all-time meeting between the Green Wave and the Braves. Tulane trails the series 1-3 including losses in the last two meetings. The last time the Wave defeated Bradley was in New Orleans on December 1, 1984, by a final score of 65-56.

In its last time out, Tulane rolled past Sacramento State 92-57 in its first contest of the SoCal Challenge on Friday night. The victory moved the Wave to 3-0 to start the season for the second consecutive year and the fourth time in the last five seasons. The Green Wave shot 58.9 percent from the field and 44.0 percent from beyond the arc including a season-high 11 made threes. Defensively, Tulane forced Sacramento State into 24 turnovers and limited the Hornets to 35.2 percent shooting from the floor.

All five starters are averaging double figures in scoring so far this season for the Green Wave. Kevin Cross leads the team with 19.3 points per game followed Kolby King with 18.3. Sion James is averaging 15.0 points per game and Collin Holloway is adding 14.3 points per contest. Jaylen Forbes rounds out the leaders for Tulane scoring 10.0 points per game.

Through three games this season, Tulane leads the American in scoring (90.33), scoring margin (+20.67), field goal percentage (.537), steals (12.67), and turnover margin (+9.33). The Green Wave also ranks in the top 10 nationally in free throw percentage (82.4), steal per game, and turnover margin.

Bradley comes into the second game of the 2023 SoCal Challenge with a 3-0 record after defeating Tarleton State 86-63 at home. The Braves are strong beyond the arc on both ends of the floor ranking 18th in the nation in three-pointers made per game at 10.7 and 10th in three-point percentage defense holding opponents to 21.9 percent from three. Bradley was picked to finish third in the Missouri Valley Conference this season after finishing first last season.

Following the matchup with the Braves, the Green Wave face against either Cal or UTEP on Wednesday, November 22. That game will be at either 7:30 p.m. or 9:30 p.m. PT/9:30 or 11:30 CT.
