
Tulane Finishes 10th in Navy Women’s Fleet Race, 13th in St. Mary’s Team Race

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University Sailing wrapped another weekend of racing on the water with a 10th-place finish in the Navy Women's Spring Fleet Race and a 13th-place finish at the St. Mary's Open Team Race.
The Green Wave dropped two spots in the final standing in Annapolis, Maryland, in the Navy Women's Spring Fleet Race finishing with 203 total points. Tulane posted a total score of 107 on the second day of racing in the regatta. The B Division team for the Wave ended the weekend with 85 total points to land eighth in the division behind the racing of Lucy Spearman, Anne Richards, and Ella May Corckran. In the A Division, Mia Hanes, Megan Cassidy, and Essie Clifton finished 13th in the division with 118 points on the weekend.
The Green Wave fell to 13th out of 16 teams at the St. Mary's Open Team Race after going 4-3 on the final day of racing. Skippers Thad Lettsome, Cameron Giblin, Asher Zittrer, and Quinn Keenan paired with crews Alex Makoid, Ellie Spearman, Andrea Riefkohl-Gonzalez, Gillian Perrell, Kit Stoll, and Brady Starck led Tulane to wins over SUNY Maritime College, George Washington, Cornell, and King's Point on Sunday. The four wins pushed the Wave's overall mark on the weekend to 7-8.
Up next, the Green Wave will be on the road again for the Szambecki Open Team in Norfolk, Virginia, and the Jen Harris Women's Team Race back in Annapolis, Maryland, on Saturday and Sunday.
