
Green Wave Finishes Third in Dellenbaugh Women’s Team Race

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Tulane University Sailing dropped two spots on the final day of racing in the Dellenbaugh Women's Team Race to finish third overall Sunday. The Green Wave women's team reached the Final Four round of the regatta but was only able to pick up one win in the round landing behind No. 3 Brown and No. 2 Yale.
On last day of the Dellenbaugh Women's Team Race the Green Wave wrapped up Round 1 with an 8-2 record to move into the Final Four round. Tulane defeated MIT but fell against Brown and Yale to finish the regatta 9-4 in third place. The Wave was led by skippers Caroline Benson, Mia Hanes, and Ciara Rodriguez-Horan with crews Abigail Borggaard, Ellie Spearman, Essie Clifton, Anne Richards, Lydia Brown, and Catherine Anderson through the weekend.
Back in New Orleans on Lake Pontchartrain Tulane hosted the Nelson Roltsch Fleet Race scrimmage. Tulane fielded six teams in the scrimmage to claim the top five spots in the standings. Zander King raced with Alex Makoid to finish first overall with a total of 27 points through six races. In second place was Bobby Rielly with Ryan Ehnot with 33 points followed by Joseph Solmo with Ella May Corckran in third with 37 points. Rounding out the top performers in the scrimmage were Matheo Capasso with Raquel Shulman in fourth and Lucy Spearman with Brady Starck in fifth.
Up next, the Green Wave will return to action April 15-16 with a pair of regattas. Tulane will host the SEISA Team Race Championships on Lake Pontchartrain and compete in the Truxton-Umsted Open Fleet Race hosted by Navy.
