
Anderson & Barclay Win SEISA Singlehanded Titles for Tulane

AUSTIN, Texas – A pair of freshmen led the way for the Tulane sailing team to win the SEISA Open and Women's Singlehanded Championships on Saturday. Ava Anderson took the top spot among five sailors in the women's races while Hamilton Barclay claimed the title against six other sailors in the open races.
With the victories for both Anderson and Barclay the freshman duo each advance to compete in the ICSA National Championship hosted by the Green Wave on November 11-12
Three sailors competed for the Wave in the women's singlehanded races and claimed the top three spots in the standings. Anderson led the way finishing first in four of the six races to secure the title. Fellow freshmen Oakley Cunningham and Audrey Permenter finished second and third in the regatta. Cunningham also notched a pair of wins in the two races that Anderson did not finish first.
In the SEISA Open Singlehanded Championship Barclay and Thad Lettsome took the top two spots in the standings. Barclay claimed the title by securing two first place finishes to one for Lettsome as the pair finished with 4 and 5 total points, respectively.
Up next, Tulane will return home to host the Sugar Bowl Open and Women's Fleet Races on Lake Pontchartrain Saturday, September 23-24.
