
Tulane Hosts Sugar Bowl Fleet Races Saturday & Sunday

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University sailing team will host its first home regatta of the fall campaign this weekend on Lake Pontchartrain. The Green Wave will welcome teams from eight other schools to compete in the Sugar Bowl Open and Women's Fleet Races on Saturday and Sunday, September 23-24.

Tulane won both the Sugar Bowl Open and Women's Fleet Races last fall. Thad Lettsome, Alex Makoid, and Hope Breslin along with Quinn Keenan finished first in the open fleet race last year while the winners of the women's fleet race were Ciara Rodriguez-Horan, Lydia Brown, Mia Hanes, and Essie Clifton.

The Green Wave will compete against College of Charleston, Jacksonville, Rice, Texas, Texas A&M Galveston, and Wisconsin in the open fleet race. The Wave will field three teams for the regatta: Green Wave, Angry Wave, and Riptide.

Fans can watch the regatta from Breakwater Park and the first 25 fans in attendance on Sunday with receive a FREE Tulane Green Wave visor.

Results for the open fleet race will be posted HERE and results for the women's fleet race will be found HERE following each day of racing.
