
Wave on the Road for Two Weekend Regattas

NEW ORLEANS – Another weekend on the road awaits Tulane sailing as the team will travel to Maryland and New York for a pair of separate regattas on Saturday and Sunday, October 12-13. The Green Wave will be competing in Annapolis, Maryland, at the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship Finals while also racing for the Nevin's Trophy in Kings Point, New York.

The Women's ACC Finals will be hosted by Navy on the waters of the Severn River. Tulane will be one of 18 team competing in the regatta along with teams from Boston College, Brown, Charleston, Cornell, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Harvard, Hobart & William, MIT, Northeastern, Old Dominion, Roger Williams, Stanford, Tufts, Navy, Penn, and Yale. Representing the Wave on the water will be Ava Anderson, Cate Anderson, Taylor Bartell, Hope Breslin, Caitlin Briggs, Ella May Corckran, Oakley Cunningham, and Sammie Gardner. Last fall the Green Wave finished 11th overall in the Women's ACC Finals in New Haven, Connecticut.

This fall the regatta will be sailed in two divisions with 18 total races scheduled for each division. Racing is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. CT on Saturday and Sunday.

Meanwhile in Kings Point, New York, the race for the Nevin's Trophy will be hosted by the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy along Little Neck and Eastchester Bays. The regatta will feature 18 total teams including Tulane. The remaining teams in the field racing for the Nevin's Trophy will be Cornell, Fordham, George Washington, Harvard, Hobart & William, Old Dominion, Roger Williams, NY Maritime, St. Mary's, Stanford, Coast Guard, Kings Point, Navy, UCLA, Michigan, Penn, and Yale. Matheo Capasso, Sarah Grace Clifton, Ryan Ehnot, Zander King, Alex Makoid, and John Wood are set to compete for Tulane in the regatta. The Wave landed in eighth place for the Nevin's Trophy last fall.
