
Tulane Finishes Top Eight at Both Weekend Regattas

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane sailing registered another solid weekend on the water posting top eight finishes in the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship Finals and the Nevin's Trophy regattas. The Green Wave landed sixth out of 18 teams competing in the Women's ACC Finals and closed in eighth among 18 teams racing for the Nevin's Trophy.

On the waters of the Severn River in Annapolis, Maryland, the Wave finished just 13 points out of the top five ending with 253 total points through 16 rotations. Ava Anderson and Ella May Corckran led the way on the water for Tulane landing second in the B Division with 106 points. Over in the A Division, the Green Wave ended in ninth with 147 points behind the racing of Sammie Gardner and Hope Breslin.

In Kings Point, New York, Tulane claimed eighth overall in the 18-team field at the Nevin's Trophy regatta with 248 total points after 14 rotations. The Wave was paced by the B Division trio of John Wood, Ryan Ehnot, and Alex Makoid who finished fourth in the division with 93 points. The combination of Matheo Capasso, Zander King, and Essie Clifton ended the regatta with 155 points to land 13th in the A Division.

Up next, Tulane will travel to Massachusetts for the Open ACC Finals and the Oberg Fleet Race on October 19-20. The Open ACC Finals will be hosted by Boston College in Boston, while the Oberg Fleet Race will be held by MIT in Cambridge.
