MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Tulane University men's basketball (13-10, 4-7) was unable to overcome a slow start against Memphis (18-6, 7-4) on Sunday dropping the second meeting of the season 90-78. The Green Wave outscored the Tigers in the second half but were ultimately unable to erase a double-digit deficit at halftime.
The battle around the rim proved to be a key difference maker in the contest as the Wave was outscored by Memphis 40-26 in the paint thanks in part to 14 Tulane turnovers that turned into 18 easy points for the Tigers.

Three players scored double figures for the Tigers led by a game-high 23 points from David Jones.
Memphis jumped out to a 19-point advantage midway through the first off a handful of Tulane turnovers. The Green Wave chipped the deficit down to 12 points for a moment, but the Tigers rallied to close the half with Tulane trailing 46-29 at the break.
