
Tulane Wrapped Up Day One at the Green Wave Invitational Undefeated

ELMWOOD, LA- The Tulane beach volleyball team started off the season on a high note when they defeated Southeastern Louisiana and Oregon on day one of the Green Wave Invitational.
The Green Wave started off with a strong 4-1 victory over Southeastern Louisiana securing four.
The Green Wave earned an impressive 4-1 victory over Southeastern Louisiana, asserting their dominance by clinching four out of five matches. To start, Tulane's flight four duo, comprised of Tawny Ensign and Lara Torruella, triumphed over SLU's Ysabella Lockwood and Erin Engel with scores of 21-16 in both sets, marking a memorable collegiate debut for T. Ensign.
Building on this momentum, Tulane's flight two pair, Sara Hall and Molly Todd, engaged in a hard-fought battle against SLU's Mia McKinney and Mia Sauers. Despite being stretched to three sets, they secured a point for the Green Wave with scores of 17-21, 21-14, and 15-6.
In the ladder round of matches, the third flight pairing of Skylar Ensign and Samantha Green secured the third crucial point and overall victory for Tulane. They displayed dominance against SLU's Maddie Shepson and Alexis Logarbo, clinching an authoritative win with scores of 21-13, 21-14, marking a significant milestone for S. Ensign's collegiate career.
To cap off the impressive performance, the fifth flight duo of Amelia Mullen and McKenzie Cutler sealed the fourth point for the Green Wave. They delivered another dominant display against SLU's Emmaleigh Vincent and Jackie McGee, emerging victorious with scores of 21-14, 21-11.
After a break Tulane's dominance continued as they took on Oregon.
Tulane's fourth flight had another stellar performance taking down Oregon's Landree Coats and Skylar Kelly to ensure a 2-0 record on the day (21-9, 21-13).
Following suit, the second flight also took down Oregon in two sets to secure a sweep on the day. Hall and Trodd bested Oregon's Alina Valenti and Halli Fields, 21-13, 21-15.
Enter the ladder group of flights, the Green Wave just needed to secure one more point to take the duel set. Tulane's flight one, Savka Popovic and Trinity Jackson, were able to get it done against Oregon's Alina Valenti and Bella Gamache.
Tulane's third and fifth pair took Tulane home to secure the sweep.
The Green Wave will be back in action bright and early Saturday morning when they have a triple header taking on S.F. Austin, Northern Alabama, and Spring Hill College.
