Â
The Green Wave improved to 25-20 in the win, while the Lions fell to 22-22.
Â
Haas played the position usually manned by Brady Marget, who recorded a 3-for-4 effort that saw him drive in four runs from his designated hitter spot in the order. Marget (sixth inning) and left fielder Jackson Linn (seventh) both blasted two-run homers on Tuesday.
Â
For Southeastern, left fielder Parker Coley went 3-for-5. He led off the game with his seventh home run of the season, while shortstop TJ Salvaggio smashed his 10th in the fourth inning.
Â
That gave the visitors a 3-2 advantage but Tulane responded with three runs on an RBI groundout by shortstop Michael Lombardi and Marget's two-run single to left to grab a lead it would not relinquish.
Â
A total of 11 pitchers were used in the game. Green Wave reliever Jonah Wachter (1-0) picked up his first win of the season, going two and a third innings, allowing one run on two hits with three strikeouts and one walk.Â
Â
Southeastern starter Carson Robb (3-1) suffered his first loss, giving up five runs on six hits with one strikeout and three walks.Â
Â
The last time a Tulane player had five hits in a game was Chase Engelhard on May 22, 2021 at Cincinnati.Â
Â
Tulane center fielder Teo Banks currently has a seven-game hitting streak and has reached base in 15 consecutive contests. He also sports a team-high 12 home runs but surrendered the team's RBI lead to Marget (43) on Tuesday.
Â
The Green Wave is now 18-1 this season when leading after five innings.
Â
Tulane scored double-digit runs seven times in April. Marget hit .408 with 25 RBI over the last month as well.
Â
The Olive and Blue's next opponent will be Memphis (19-26, 6-12 American Athletic Conference) as the Tigers come to town on Friday for a three-game series. UM beat Arkansas-Pine Bluff 17-2 in seven innings on Tuesday.Â
