TULANE GAME NOTES
NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane baseball team will host its final weekend series of 2024 when sixth-ranked East Carolina comes to town on Friday.
Â
The Pirates will be the highest-ranked opponent to visit Uptown for a weekend series since Rice did so in May of 2008.
Â
Friday and Saturday's games will be played at 6:30 p.m., while the series finale on Sunday is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Green Wave (26-23, 10-11 American Athletic Conference) is coming off a 6-5, 10-inning defeat at the hands of UNO on Tuesday. Tulane had already won the Pelican Cup by virtue of its victories in the first two meetings between the two schools.

ECU (37-10, 16-5) dropped a 5-2 contest at home against ninth-ranked Duke on Tuesday.Â

The Pirates come into the weekend sitting in first place in the AAC, while the Green Wave is in a three-way tie for fourth.

The two teams locked horns in the 2023 AAC Tournament final with the Green Wave capping off a storybook run through the bracket with an 8-6 victory over the Pirates. ECU took two of three from Tulane in Greenville during the last week of April 2023.

Friday's contest will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Jack Benjamin (play-by-play) and Ron Swoboda (analyst) handling the broadcast duties.

Voice of the Green Wave Corey Gloor will also have the call on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield. The game will air on 88.3 FM WRBH, along with the Tulane Athletics and Varsity Network apps. Airtime for all the games is 15 minutes before first pitch.

Tulane will send LHPÂ Luc Fladda (3-3, 5.03 ERA)Â to the mound in the series opener against ECU RHP Trey Yesavage (10-1, 1.69 ERA). The Olive and Blue's Chandler Welch (5-3, 4.96 ERA) will be Saturday's starter against a Pirate starter that has yet to be announced. Both starters for Friday are also TBA.

ECU's Carter Cunningham leads the team with a .399 batting average in addition to his 60 runs scored, 73 hits, 15 doubles, 128 total bases, .699 slugging percentage and .491 on-base percentage. He is also tied for the team lead in home runs (12) with Justin Wilcoxen. Ryley Johnson has a team-best four triples, 35 walks and 18 stolen bases to go with Jacob Jenkins-Cowart's 55 RBI.

Tulane first baseman Brady Marget leads the team in batting average (.339), OPS (.973), hits (65), RBI (48), total bases (103) and on-base percentage (.437). Catcher Colin Tuft has scored 54 runs, boasts a team-high 37 walks and 10 stolen bases. Second baseman Connor Rasmussen and center fielder Teo Banks lead the team with 12 doubles apiece, while Banks is tops in home runs (12) to go with Jackson Linn's .606 slugging percentage.

Tulane will recognize its 2024 graduates before Saturday's contest and its six seniors throughout the first half of Sunday's game. Sunday will again be Riptide's Kids Club Day where members will receive FREE game admission. There will also be postgame autograph session with Marcus Cline, Matthias Haas, Nathan Rose, Reed Kellum, Billy Price and Jake Saum.
