Tulane Ready for Two More Road Regattas

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sailing will head back out on the road to compete in a pair of regattas in the northeast this weekend on Saturday and Sunday, October 11-12. The Green Wave will send a women's team to race in the Women's Atlantic Coast Finals in Boston, Massachusetts, while a coed crew for the Wave will take to the water for the Nevin Trophy in Kings Point, New York.

The Women's ACC Finals will be hosted by MIT on the waters of the Charles River with 18 total teams competing in the regatta. Featured in the regatta along with Tulane will be teams from Boston College, Bowdoin, Brown, College of Charleston, Cornell, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Harvard, MIT, Northeastern, Old Dominion, Stanford, Tufts, Coast Guard, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Yale.

The event will be sailed in two divisions with a maximum of 14 races for each division. Racing at the Women's ACC Finals is slated to begin at approximately 9 a.m. CT on Saturday and Sunday.

Competition for the Nevins Trophy will be hosted by the United States Merchant Marine Academy on the waters of the Little Neck and Eastchester Bays. The Green Wave will hit the water against teams from Christopher Newport, Cornell, Eckerd, Fordham, George Washington, Hobart & William, Old Dominion, Roger Williams, St. Mary's, Stanford, Tufts, Coast Guard, Kings Point, Navy, Miami, Pennsylvania, and Yale.

The format for the Nevins Trophy will include two divisions racing in a single round robin slated for 14 total races. Competition is scheduled to start by 10 a.m. CT on Saturday and 9 a.m. CT on Sunday.

LAST WEEK
The Wave finished eighth and 12th last weekend in separate regattas both hosted in New London, Connecticut. Tulane landed eighth among 18 teams racing at the Open ACC Semifinals and 12th in a field of 17 teams in the Stu Nelson Trophy.
