
Wave Set to Compete in Two Northeast Regattas

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sailing will back on the road this weekend to compete in a pair of separate regattas hosted in the northeast on Saturday and Sunday, October 18-19. The Green Wave will be represented on the water at the Open Atlantic Coast Championship Finals in Annapolis, Maryland, and the Yale Women's Fleet Race in New Haven, Connecticut.

The Open ACC Finals will be hosted by the United States Naval Academy on the waters of the Severn River with 18 total teams competing in the regatta. Featured in the regatta along with Tulane will be teams from Boston College, Bowdoin, Brown, College of Charleston, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Hobart & William, Jacksonville, MIT, Roger Williams, St. Mary's, Stanford, Coast Guard, Navy, Pennsylvania, and Yale.

The event will be sailed in two divisions with a total of 14 races scheduled for each division. Racing at the Open ACC Finals is slated to begin by approximately 8:30 a.m. CT on Saturday and Sunday.

Competition in the Yale Women's Fleet Race will be hosted on the waters of the Granite Bay by the Yale Bulldogs. The Green Wave will hit the water against teams from Brown, College of Charleston, Connecticut College, Dartmouth, Fordham, George Washington, Harvard, MIT, Northeastern, St. Mary's, Stanford, Tufts, Coast Guard, Navy, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Yale.

The format for the Yale Women's Fleet Race will include two divisions racing in a single round robin slated for 14 total races. Competition is scheduled to start by 10 a.m. CT on Saturday and 9:30 a.m. CT on Sunday.

LAST WEEK
The Wave finished second and eighth last weekend in separate regattas. Tulane placed second among 17 team racing for the Nevins Trophy in King's Point, New York, and landed eighth in a field of 18 teams competing in the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship Finals in Boston.
