
Tulane Places Third at Open Atlantic Coast Championship Finals

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane sailing claimed third place among 18 teams competing in the Open Atlantic Coast Championship Finals in Annapolis, Maryland, over the weekend. The Green Wave also finished eighth in a field of 18 teams at the Yale Women's Fleet Race in New Haven, Connecticut.
In the Open ACC Finals hosted by Navy on the waters of the Severn River, the Wave ended the regatta with 178 total points through 14 rotations to land in third place. Across the two divisions racing in the regatta Tulane posted three first-place performances and crossed the finish line in the top four 13 times.
The crews racing for the Green Wave in both the A and B Divisions finished fourth in their respective divisions with 89 points. In the A Division skipper Hamilton Barclay raced with crews Taylor Bartell, Matheo Capasso, and Kelly Holthus to record a pair of race victories and six total performances in the top four. Over in the B Division skipper Christian Ebbin teamed with crews Sabrina Anderson and Ryan Ehnot to win one race and land in the top four seven times.
In the Yale Women's Fleet Race hosted on the waters of the Granite Bay Tulane finished the regatta with 196 total points across 11 rotations to finish eighth overall. Between the two divisions in the regatta the Wave recorded one first-place performance and six finishes in the top five.
The Green Wave was paced by skipper Lola Kohl with crew Sabrina Casagrande from the B Division with __ total points. The duo of Kohl and Casagrande placed eighth in the division posting Tulane's lone win in the regatta to go with four top five performances. Meanwhile, in the A Division the pairing of skipper Oakley Cunningham with crew Caroline Caudron placed 11th in their division with a final tally of 104 points through 11 races.
On Friday the Wave also competed in the Tom Curtis Memorial Regatta hosted by Georgetown. Tulane fielded three teams in the one-day regatta which featured three programs with 18 total teams racing. The trio of Barclay, Holthus, and Bartell led the way for the Green Wave placing sixth with 24 points in four races. Next in the standings for Tulane was Ebbin with Tate Christopher and Anderson in 10th with 40 points. Capasso and Ehnot rounded out the regatta for the Wave placing 12th with 42 points.
Up next, Tulane will head to Corpus Christi, Texas, to take part in the SEISA Fall Championships. The championship regattas will be hosted by Texas A&M – Corpus Christi on Saturday and Sunday, October 25-26.
