Tulane Wraps Regular Season on the Road this Weekend

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane volleyball will close the regular season on the road this weekend with matches at North Texas and Tulsa. The contest between the Green Wave and the Mean Green is set for 6 p.m. on Friday while the matchup with the Golden Hurricane is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday.

The Wave rolls into the final weekend of the regular with a 3-11 record in The American this season after splitting a pair of matches last weekend. Tulane went 1-1 earning a 3-1 victory at home over Florida Atlantic on Friday before falling 1-3 at UTSA on Sunday. The Green Wave holds a 1-7 record on the road this season including an 0-6 mark against conference opponents.

Offensively, Tulane is paced by the duo of Avery Burks and Zoe Rachow. Burks leads the Wave with 415 kills this season averaging 4.23 kills per set while Rachow has led the way setting the table for the Green Wave with 724 total assists averaging 8.04 per set.

On defense for Tulane, Dayla Ortiz anchors the team with 370 digs while averaging 3.89 per set and Sabrina Skyers patrols the net with a team-high 84.0 total blocks.

TULANE VS. NORTH TEXAS
This marks the 12th meeting all-time between Tulane and North Texas with the Green Wave trailing the series 3-8. The Wave lost the previous matchup this season against the Mean Green 2-3 on October 10 in New Orleans. In just the third trip to Denton, Texas, for the Green Wave the program will be aiming its first win over North Texas on the road. Tulane dropped its previous matches at North Texas 0-3 on September 29, 2024, and 1-3 on November 3, 2013. The last time the Wave earned a victory over the Mean Green came on October 27, 2024, in New Orleans by a final score of 3-1.

Sunday's matchup will be the 44th meeting all-time between Tulane and Tulsa. The Green Wave has lost the five matches in the series to drop to 20-23 against the Golden Hurricane. The last time the Wave defeated Tulsa came in a 3-0 sweep on November 5, 2021, in Tulsa. Tulane holds a 7-14 record on the road against the Golden Hurricane with losses in each of its last three trips to Tulsa.
