Nov 2, 2025 | Women's Bowling
HOUSTON, Texas – The No. 19 Tulane University bowling team posted a 3-1 record on the last day of Sam Houston's TRACK Kat Klash at Emerald Lanes Sunday, finishing in seventh. The day opened with the Wave winning two-of-three Baker matches before claiming another triumph in the lone match of bracket play.
Â
The final three qualifying matches began with a Tulane triumph over Newman, 903-875. Two ranked contests followed, first against No. 8 Sam Houston. The host Bearkats prevailed 967-844. No. 16 Maryland Eastern Shore was up next to round out the trio of Baker matches, and the Wave bounced back with a tight 980-971 victory over the Hawks.
Â
Tulane was 8-4 after the qualifying portion with 11,648 pins at an average of 179.2 per game. Seeded eighth, this set up an immediate rematch with seventh-seeded UMES in the single-round bracket portion. After a tightly played Baker match earlier, the squads put forth another full battle as the best-of-seven Baker format went the distance with the Wave prevailing 4-3. Tulane opened with a 195-128 win, but the Hawks responded to pull ahead with victories of 162-156 and 202-159. The Wave pulled level with a 191-179 win, but UMES responded with a 212-207 score thereafter. Tulane rose to the occasion and battled back, claiming a 187-170 victory for the winner-take-all game, which also went the way of the Wave by a thin margin, 158-152.
Â
This moved Tulane to 9-4 overall to place seventh, accruing 12,901 total pins in the event at a rate of 179.2 per game.
Â
The Wave remains in action this coming weekend, its third in a row competing. Tulane returns to the Lone Star State for the Bulldog Classic, hosted by No. 9 Louisiana Tech. The event takes place at City View Lanes in Fort Worth, Texas, from Friday, November 7 to Sunday, November 9.
