SERIES HISTORY – LSU

CLOSING IN ON 700 WINS
Since the Tulane women's basketball team came into existence in 1975, the team has compiled an impressive 699 victories. The Green Wave need just one more victory to reach 700 as a program.
A QUARTER CENTURY WITH COACH
Now entering her 25th year with the Green Wave women's basketball program in 2018-19, it's hard to imagine anyone else at the helm besides Coach Lisa Stockton. Her numbers are staggering: three different conferences, four conference tournament championships, two conference regular-season championships, six All-Americans, 11 NCAA Tournament berths, seven WNIT spots and a boatload of wins. No one in the history of Tulane women's basketball is even close to Stockton's career numbers.
STOCKTON NEARS 500
Entering Thursday's game against LSU, Stockton has amassed 494 career victories at Tulane. She is just six wins shy of 500. Stockton has more than nine times as many wins as the second-winningest coach in program history.
FREEMAN ON FIRE
Krystal Freeman had a stellar start to her sophomore season, scoring a career-high 16 points and making eight of her nine field goal attempts against Texas Southern on Saturday. Freeman's .889 field goal percentage currently ranks sixth in the country. Freeman also tied for the team high in rebounding against the Tigers while making her first career start.
CHEATHAM FROM DOWNTOWN
Not to be outdone by her classmate, sophomore Sierra Cheatham had a special night in the season opener as well. Cheatham led Tulane in scoring with 17 points, making five 3-pointers and adding two game-icing free throws in the final minute. Cheatham set a new career high with those five made 3s and 17 points, and her 5.0 made 3-pointers per game currently ranks her eighth in the nation.
CAREER PASSING DAY
Career highs were set by every member of the sophomore class, as Kaila Anderson dished out nine assists against the Tigers on Thursday. The starting point guard's previous career high was eight. Anderson is now fourth in the nation with 9.0 assists per game.
HOT SHOOTING
One week after shooting 56.7 percent from the field in its exhibition win over Loyola-New Orleans, the Green Wave kept up that hot shooting in the season opener against Texas Southern. Tulane made 24 of its 41 field goal attempts against the Tigers, good for a .585 shooting percentage. The team is now fifth in the country with that .585 field goal percentage and an also-impressive sixth in the country with its .526 percentage from 3-point range (10 of 19).
MANU DID GOOD
Kayla Manuirirangi was Tulane's top returning scorer entering the year after averaging 7.7 points per game, and she nearly doubled that average in the season opener against Texas Southern. Manuirirangi made four of her six attempts from the 3-point line and added one more from 2-point range, scoring 14 points to finish third on the team.
FRESHMEN DEBUTS
Three of Tulane's freshmen got into the game against Texas Southern and all put up some numbers in their debuts. New Orleans native Dynah Jones got a start in the game, becoming the first Tulane freshman to start in her first possible game since Courtnie Latham in 2013. Jones finished the game with 2 points. Also getting into the game was Mia Heide, a forward from Austin, Texas, who tied for the team high with five rebounds. She also had two assists and a block. Finally, Florida native Erin Gutierrez played 10 minutes, scoring four points, picking up two assists and grabbing a rebound.
