
Baseball Plays Host to Crosstown Rival UNO in Pelican Cup Tuesday

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane and UNO baseball return to Pelican Cup series action Tuesday when the Green Wave welcome the Privateers to Greer Field at Turchin Stadium for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch.
The game will be broadcast on 88.3 FM WRBH and the TuneIn Radio app. Live video and live stats will be available through TulaneGreenWave.com. Tickets may be purchased online at TulaneTix.com, by calling 504-861-WAVE (9283) or at the Tulane Athletics Ticket Office in the Wilson Center.
This is the second of three games in the Pelican Cup series this season. UNO won 8-7 on the Lakefront on March 6, and the third game will be played Uptown on April 10.
PELICAN CUP
• Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to the drop into the bin of their favorite team at the main entrance gate behind home plate. Fans can drop the food into the bin bearing their favorite respective team's logo. All proceeds will benefit Lantern Light and the local Ronald McDonald House. Tulane and UNO have partnered with the Kiwanis Club Danwbusters in the food drive.
• Fans who donate non-perishable food items April 3 can receive a voucher for a $5 chairback seat to the April 10 game Uptown. For donating at the April 10 game, Green Wave fans will receive a voucher for a $5 ticket to one game during the ECU series May 4-6 at Turchin Stadium.
•  A trophy will be awarded to the series winner, and an MVP award will be given to the series' top player after the April 10 game.
•  The teams plan to play three games each year, alternating the site for two games.
GAME PROMOTIONS
•  Tuesday is Tulane Tuesday: Fans can receive $2 off chairback seats, $2 select concessions items and free t-shirts while supplies last.
SERIES HISTORY
Tulane and UNO have played 143 times. Tulane leads the series, 80-63. The Privateers won 8-7 in the bottom of the ninth inning on the Lakefront back on March 6. The teams split two games each of the last two years: UNO won 9-5 at home, and Tulane won 8-6 at home in 2017, and UNO won 10-9 and home and Tulane won 5-2 at Turchin Stadium in 2016. This is the first year the teams have met three times in a season since 2013.

LSWA ALL-LOUISIANA HITTER OF THE WEEK
David Bedgood was named the LSWA All-Louisiana Hitter of the Week on April 2. He hit .462 (6-for-13) with two three-hit games in the series at USF. He went 3-for-4 and drove in two of Tulane's three runs in the 3-2 win Thursday night, while playing first base for the first time in his career. He then came back and tallied three hits and scored two runs in five at bats on Sunday.Â
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Kaleb Roper was named to the Honor Roll on April 2 after striking out a career-high 10 batters and scattering six hits and one earned run in 8.0 innings in a 3-2 win at USF on March 29.
