
The Green Wave is Set To Take on ECU

GREENVILLE, NC- Tulane volleyball (4-12) will be back on the road Friday evening when they travel to Greenville, NC to take on East Carolina (12-4).

Last Week versus Temple
Tulane fell in another nail-biting five-set match to Temple on the road last Friday.
Redshirt sophomore outside hitter, Ilayda Demirtas, led the Green Wave in kills, finishing the match with 10.
There were three different players who posted nine kills, including sophomore middle blocker Sabrina Skyers who bested her career high. Another middle who recorded a career-high was freshman Jordan White. She had seven kills in the match.
White also led the Green Wave on the defensive front with two solo blocks and three assisted blocks. Graduate libero Lauryn Burrows also had 21 digs.
Numbers Don't Lie:
Tulane is on top in the AAC in team blocks per set averaging 2.69.
Middle blocker, Sabrina Skyers, is a large reason for Tulane's blocking prowess. The sophomore ranks first in the AAC averaging 1.39 blocks per set.
Graduate middle blocker, Orsula Staka, is fourth in the AAC rankings averaging 1.20 blocks per set.
Graduate libero, Lauryn Burrows, remains in the second position in the AAC in digs averaging 4.80 digs per set.
Graduate defensive specialist, Savannah Perry is ranked third in the service aces per set category averaging 0.47.
Freshman, outside hitter, Avery Burks is averaging 3.11 kills per set. which places her seventh in the AAC.
ECU Match Up:
The Owls are off to a 12-4 start to the season and are currently 3-2 in the AAC with wins over FAU and UAB. ECU faced off against FAU last weekend. In the first match, the Pirates came out on top, 3-0. In the second match, FAU came out on top 3-1.
ECU and the Green Wave have a long history as conference foes. Tulane leads the series 23-6.
Last season, Tulane and ECU split the series. In the first match, Tulane came out on top, 3-1. The second match went into five sets with ECU besting the Green Wave 3-2.
