NEW ORLEANS – Tulane welcomes Wichita State for three games this weekend on Greer Field at Turchin Stadium. Due to inclement weather in the forecast, the contests will now be two games on Friday (2 and 6:30 p.m.) and one on Sunday (12:30 p.m.)

The Green Wave comes into the game at 9-24 overall and 3-3 in the American Athletic Conference, while the Shockers sit at 18-14 and 3-3 in the league.Â
SCOUTING THE SHOCKERS
Mauricio Millan led the team with a .343 batting average, while Brock Rodden shows the way with a 1.121 OPS, to go with 33 runs scored, 12 doubles, two triples, nine home runs, 37 RBI, 86 total bases, a .677 slugging percentage, 21 walks and a .444 on-base percentage. Payton Tolle paces WSU with 45 hits this season and Kyte McDonald boasts 11 stolen bases in 12 attempts.Â

In conference play, the weekend starting pitchers have been Clark Candiotti (2-0, 0.71 ERA), Tolle (2-0, 2.70 ERA) and Grant Adler (0-1, 4.91 ERA). Candiotti and Tolle have combined to amass 39 strikeouts against just eight walks.Â

The Shockers have dropped four of their last six games, including two of three at home last weekend to Houston.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE GREEN WAVE
LSU, the nation's top-ranked baseball team, piled up 19 hits en route to an 11-5 win over host Tulane Tuesday evening on Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.

Bryce Collins (1-0) was credited with the win, hurling two and two-thirds innings, allowing two strikeouts and two walks.Â

Tulane's Jonah Wachter (1-3), one of 10 Green Wave pitchers on the evening, took the loss as he gave up three runs on six hits in one and one-third innings.

For LSU, third baseman Tommy White and right fielder Brayden Jobert drove in three runs apiece, while left fielder Tre' Morgan, designated hitter Cade Beloso and first baseman Jared Jones all had three hits. Morgan, center fielder Dylan Crews and shortstop Jordan Thompson also scored two runs each.

Tulane was led by third baseman Simon Baumgardt, who went 4-for-5 at the plate, with four RBI and two runs scored. He and first baseman Brady Marget also scored twice.

Baumgardt put the Green Wave on top early with a run-scoring single to left in the top of the first inning and gave Tulane a 3-2 lead in the third when his two-run shot cleared the wall in center field. He knocked in the Olive and Blue's final run as well with a single to left in the bottom of the ninth.

Left fielder Jackson Linn knocked in the other Tulane run with a single to right in the seventh.
Â
Marget doubled down the left field line in the top of the ninth for his team-leading ninth two-base knock of the season.
Â
Baumgardt's homer gave him seven for the season, tying him with Linn atop the team's long ball statistics.

Linn and right fielder Jacob LaPrairie each posted stolen bases for the Green Wave, making the duo a combined 10-for-10 in that department this season.
