Volleyball Falls to Rice in Four

HOUSTON โ Volleyball played away against Rice tonight, taking on the Owls for the second time this season. The Green Wave managed a promising recovery midway through the match, but ultimately dropped the sets 3-1.
The Owls came out strong, beating Tulane 25-13, though the Green Wave regained some ground in the second to finish it 25-20. Tulane shone in the third set, coming out on top 25-21 and ruining the Owls' chance of a shutout. The Owls persisted in the fourth, however, and ended their home match with a set score of 25-15.
Zoe Rachow racked up 32 assists against the Owls and is closing in on 1000 in her career, as she now sits at 843. Sabrina Skyers hit .444, landed nine kills, and put up two block assists. Jordan White led with block assists, providing a wall for three.
Sami Jacobs had a team-high 14 kills, hitting .333 alongside 18 receptions. Avery Burks followed closely with 11 kills and led receptions with 23. Annabelle He had 20 receptions, while Dayla Ortiz had 13. Agata Beksha acquired 10 points off of six kills, two block assists, and an ace.ย

Tulane will have a three-match home stand, starting with the University of North Texas on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. Next, they will host UTSA on Friday, Nov. 1, and Charlotte on Sunday, Nov. 3.ย
