Tulane Dominates Jackson State in Home Matchup

NEW ORLEANS - Tulane women's basketball (2-3, 0-0 AAC) cruised past Jackson State (1-4, 0-0 SWAC) this afternoon at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse, securing a 77-37 win.
Kyren Whittington led the Wave with 22 points, shooting 10-of-15 from the field. Kendall Sneed recorded the team's first double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds, demonstrating her dominance in the paint. Sherese Pittman reached a career milestone by securing her 500th rebound, adding eight to her total in today's game.
Tulane's defensive intensity was a major factor in its most commanding win of the season, forcing 24 turnovers and turning them into 26 points.
The Olive and Blue shot an efficient 49.2% from the field, controlled the boards with a 48-26 rebounding advantage, and outscored Jackson State 42-8 in the paint. Tulane's fast break was impactful, adding 20 points as they maintained control throughout the game.
Tulane's defense limited Jackson State to just 24.1% shooting from the field, with no Jackson State player reaching double digits.
This week, Tulane will travel to St. Petersburg, Florida, for the St. Pete Showcase, beginning with a matchup against Florida on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, at 12:00 p.m. CT.
