
Wave Welcomes Privateers for First Round of the Pelican Cup

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane Baseball will begin its quest to reclaim the Pelican Cup Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. when UNO comes to Greer Field at Turchin Stadium for the first of three scheduled games between the two schools this season.

Tulane (3-4) will go to UNO for 6:30 p.m. games on Tuesday, April 9 and again on Tuesday, May 7.

This game will be streamed on ESPN+ and the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield radio call, courtesy of Voice of the Green Wave Corey Gloor. The game will also air on 88.3 FM WRBH, along with the Tulane Athletics and Varsity Network apps.

Airtime for all the games is 15 minutes before first pitch.

The Privateers (4-3) won their second consecutive series to begin the season when they defeated the Evansville Purple Aces during the first two days. Evansville avoided the sweep by winning the series finale on Sunday.

The Green Wave is currently on a three-game skid after being swept by UC Irvine for the second straight season. Shortstop Marcus Cline had a good series against the Anteaters and now leads the Green Wave with his .368 batting average. Second baseman Connor Rasmussen paces the team in RBI with nine.

The Privateers have won the Pelican Cup three times in four seasons it was contested since it returned in 2018. The Privateers won the series in '18, '19 and '23. Tulane won the Cup in 2022.
