TULANE GAME NOTES
NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane baseball team has a pair of midweek games on tap, including its first road tilt of the season at Nicholls on Tuesday.

The Green Wave will play the Colonels at 6 p.m., followed by a home date with Grambling on Wednesday at 6:30.

The Green Wave will send Jake Saum (0-2, 10.80 ERA) to the mound Tuesday evening against Dylan Farley (1-0, 2.45 ERA) of Nicholls. This will be the second time that Tulane has seen Farley, who allowed a run on four hits with eight strikeouts and one walk (65 pitches) in a 3-2 Green Wave victory back on February 20 in New Orleans.Â

Both games will be streamed on ESPN+. Ken Berthelot will have Tuesday's game on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield radio call, while Voice of the Green Wave Corey Gloor will broadcast Wednesday. Tuesday's game will air on the Tulane Athletics and Varsity Network apps only. The Grambling game will also be carried on 88.3 FM WRBH.

Airtime for both games is 15 minutes before first pitch.

Tulane is coming off a brilliant week, going 4-0 including a home sweep of Yale. Green Wave third baseman Gavin Schulz hit .500 for the week with three runs scored, two doubles, a home run, six RBI and 11 total bases. He also slugged .917 and had an on-base percentage of .429. His biggest game of the week was a 3-for-3 effort on Saturday that produced four RBI in an 11-4 victory for Tulane. For his efforts, he was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll.

Nicholls (11-2) is also riding high, having swept all three of its home series this season against Sacred Heart, Eastern Illinois and Southern. Edgar Alvarez (.409) leads the way offensively, as he has scored 19 times with nine doubles, two home runs, 14 RBI and 33 total bases. Garrett Felix and Aaron Biediger have also knocked in 13 runs this season.

Grambling (2-8) has a win over Southern and Florida A&M thus far in 2024. Ashton Inman has hit .500 this season, while Cameron Bufford has posted a .353 batting average with two homers and 19 RBI.
