TULANE GAME NOTES
BIRMINGHAM, AL – Tulane hits the road once again to face UAB for a weekend series that will take place at Young Memorial Field in Birmingham.

First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday's game will start at 2, while Sunday's series finale is set for 1.

The Green Wave (16-13, 2-4 AAC) is coming off a 19-1 home drubbing of Texas Southern on Tuesday that ended in the seventh inning due to the 10-run rule. Six Tulane players had two hits and right fielder Matthias Haas drove in four runs. The home team saw 11 consecutive batters reach in the first inning en route to 10 runs. Haas had an RBI double in the second, a two-run bomb in the sixth and plated the team's final tally with an RBI groundout in the bottom of the sixth.

The other Tulane homer came off the bat of Teo Banks, a towering three-run shot in the fourth inning. In all, Colin Tuft, Banks, first baseman Adam Ebling, left fielder Jackson Linn, Haas and shortstop James Agabedis III all posted two hits apiece.

UAB (12-16, 1-5) has lost four in a row, coming off last weekend's road sweep at East Carolina and then a 10-4 loss to Auburn at Regions Field.

All three games this weekend will be streamed on ESPN+.Â

Friday's pitching matchup will pit UAB RHP Blayze Berry (3-1, 2.34 ERA) against Tulane LHP Luc Fladda (0-1, 3.94 ERA). Saturday's starters will be UAB RHP Braxton Shelton (1-3, 3.69 ERA) and Tulane RHP Chandler Welch (3-1, 3.76 ERA). On Sunday, the Olive and Blue will send RHP Michael Lombardi (2-2, 3.79 ERA) to the hill against UAB's Colin Daniel (4-2, 3.27 ERA).

UAB's Darryl Buggs is hitting .284 and also leads the team in hits (27), doubles (6) and hit by pitches (4). Gavin Lewis, Jr. leads the way in OPS (.866), runs scored (20) and on-base percentage (.446). Braxton Brown has a team-high five home runs, 22 RBI and 45 total bases. Buggs and Logan Braunschweig have combined for 19 of the team's 39 stolen bases.

Tulane third baseman Gavin Schulz is hitting .333 thus far, with an OPS of .991, nine doubles, 25 RBI, 61 total bases and a .598 slugging percentage. First baseman Brady Marget paces the Green Wave in hits (35) and on-base percentage (.434). Center fielder Teo Banks and catcher Colin Tuft lead the team in runs scored (24) to go with Banks' home run edge (7). Second baseman Connor Rasmussen has drawn a team-high 23 walks.
