Tulane (9-5 overall, 2-1 American Athletic Conference), fresh off its 21-point road defeat of Charlotte, will play North Texas (11-4, 3-0) Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.

The Tulane trio of Victoria Keenan, Sherese Pittman and Amira Mabry combined for 56 points as the Green Wave drubbed host Charlotte 79-58 Saturday afternoon at Halton Arena.

The Olive and Blue improved to 9-5 and 2-1 in the American Athletic Conference, while Charlotte dipped to 5-9 and 0-3 in the league.

Keenan had 20 points and nine rebounds, connecting on six of her nine 3-point attempts, while Pittman and Mabry each posted 18 apiece with a combined 16 rebounds (Mabry finished one carom short of a double-double).

Kyren Whittington also chipped in seven points and eight assists with no turnovers.

Jayla Kelly (13 points) and Hayleigh Breland (12) were the only players in double figures for the 49ers. Keanna Rembert also recorded nine points and nine boards. Breland added five assists and no turnovers.

The Green Wave made the most of the 20 turnovers it forced, racking up 28 points off those Charlotte miscues.

Tulane took what had been a six-point lead (22-16) through one quarter and wrested control for good by scoring 17 of the contest's next 25 points to force a 49er timeout at the 2:14 mark of the second quarter.

The halftime margin was 20 (44-24) in favor of the visitors and got no closer than 11 in the game's final 20 minutes.

Like so many other Tulane opponents, Charlotte found the going rough from the outside, making just five of its 24 shots there (20.8 percent).

MABRY ON FIRE: Amira Mabry has come up huge for the Green Wave in her last four outings, shooting 65.5 percent from the field (36-for-55) with an average of 21.5 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest. She has also made seven of her last 15 3-point attempts (46.7 percent) over her last six games. For her efforts last week, she was again named to the league's Honorable Mention list.

CONFERENCE ROAD OPENERS:Â The last time Tulane had won its first two AAC road games prior to Saturday was January 5, 2020 at Wichita State (61-56) and January 15, 2020 at SMU (67-66).

SNEED AND KEENAN:Â Kendall Sneed is currently eighth in the NCAA freshmen standings in assists per game with 4.1. At the same time, Victoria Keenan ranks eighth in the NCAA in three-point percentage (47.7) and 10th for three-pointers made per game with 3.0.
