Blazers Put Out Wave in Close Contest

BIRMINGHAM – Tulane Women's Basketball hit the road one last time to take on the UAB Blazers today, who defended their home arena with a 66-64 win.
Tulane last took on UAB on Feb 1. At home, where they defeated them 72-55.
By the end of the first, the Wave had the lead, going 19-17. UAB had a minor lead at half with 31-30.
Sherese Pittman led the team in scoring and rebounds, sinking 18 points on top of nine grabs. Dyllan Hanna picked up seven rebounds, and both athletes are ranked in the AAC for the stat.
Kendall Sneed had an elite evening, putting up 15 points alongside four assists and four rebounds. Victoria Keenan added three threes to her nationally ranked total of 74 on the season.
Kayla Hampton scored a career-high eight points against the Blazers, including a clutch three-pointer in the last thirty seconds to keep Tulane in the competition. The Wave overcame a twelve-point deficit to battle the Blazers for the win down to the last second. The third ended 54-46, but a stellar effort returned the one-basket margin.
UAB was led by Trecey Bershers' 17 points and Sara Bershers' 16 points. Tulane was unable to pick up the points they needed to overcome the home team's effort.
