FORT WORTH – Tulane Women's Basketball is headed to the 2025 American Women's Basketball Championship held in Fort Worth, Texas from March 8 to March 12 at Dickies Arena.
Tulane stands as the No.6 seed, and will tip off play against No. 11 Wichita State on Sunday, March 9 at 8:00 p.m. C.T. The winning team will move on to play No. 3 South Florida in the quarterfinals on Monday, March 10 at 8:00 p.m. C.T. The semi finals will take place on Tuesday, and the Championship will take place on Wednesday.Â

AWARDS APLENTY
Tulane took home a collection of AAC 2025 awards, including Freshman of the Year by Kendall Sneed. Sherese Pittman earned both All-Conference First Team and All-Newcomer Team. Kyren Whittington was named to the All-Conference Second Team, and Sadie Shores was given All-Freshman Team honors.Â
LAST TIME OUT
Tulane last faced Wichita at home on Feb. 22, where they defeated the Shockers 68-64. Tulane is 7-7 versus Wichita State, but has won both 2024-2025 games. They first played one another in 2018 and had their highest margin of victory in 2023 when they won 76-53.
3/4 VS. UAB
Tulane went on the road to UAB, where they fell 66-64. The Wave struggled offensively and ultimately gave the battle to UAB, who were led by Trecey Bershers' 17 points and Sara Bershers' 16 points
Sherese Pittman led the team in scoring and rebounds, sinking 18 points on top of nine grabs. Dyllan Hanna picked up seven rebounds, and both athletes are ranked in the AAC for the stat. Kendall Sneed put up 15 points alongside four assists and four rebounds. Kayla Hampton scored a career-high eight points against the Blazers, including a clutch three-pointer in the last thirty seconds to keep Tulane in the competition.Â

Tulane is first in the conference for team field goal percentage with 42.2%. The Wave is also second in the American for field goal defense, with opponents only making 37% of shots. Tulane also ties with UNT for first in the AAC in 3 point field goal percentage at 0.278. Tulane in fourth in rebounds (39.6 pg) and third in defensive rebounds 28.5 pg).
Tulane has three players ranked in the conference's top 25 scorers – the most of any AAC school. Tulane is also the only AAC university with three in the top 20.Â
Pittman is in the conference's top 10 scorers, holding spot number nine after averaging 14 points a game. Kyren Whittington ranks 14th and Amira Mabry 22nd.
Tulane also has three players ranked in the AAC for rebounds, with Pittman, Amira Mabry, and Dyllan Hanna sitting at 9th, 13th, and 16th. Tulane was also undefeated for the month of December.
KEENAN: Victoria Keenan paces the league (and is 14th nationally) with a 44.3 percent clip from the perimeter. She is also 20th in the country with 2.64 3-pointers per contest and 39th with 74 total triples on the year.Â
GETTING DEFENSIVE: Tulane is tied first in the conference in field goal percentage defense (37) and is first in 3-point percentage defense (28). Tulane is also fourth in blocked shots per game at 3.81. Dyllan Hanna is second in the AAC for blocked shots with 35 total and 1.5 per game. Pittman is 22nd with 20 and 0.7 per game.
WEEKLY WINNERS: The Green Wave has won the league's Freshman of the Week seven times, six by Kendall Sneed (Nov. 25, Dec. 2, Dec. 23, Jan. 27, Feb. 3, Feb. 24). Sadie Shores (Dec. 30) collected it the other time. Sneed's total of six is two off the league's record of eight, held by ECU's Amiya Joyner.
Tulane has earned AAC Honorable Mention Player of the Week recognition nine times. Amira Mabry leads the way there with four (Dec. 23, Dec. 30, Jan. 6, Jan. 27), Sherese Pittman three (Nov. 18, Jan. 13, Feb. 10) and Kyren Whittington with two on November 25 and March 4.
