New Orleans - The Tulane baseball team (26-18, 10-8 AAC), after a successful trip to Greenville, returns home to host Nicholls (15-26) on Tuesday, April 29, at 6:30 p.m. on Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
Media
The game will be streamed on ESPN+. The Voice of the Green Wave, Corey Gloor, will call the action on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield on 88.3 WRBH/Varsity Network. Airtime for radio is 15 minutes before first pitch.
Promotions
On Tuesday the promotion will be Double Play Tuesday plus $3 hot dogs.
Pitching Matchup
Tulane is expected to start RHP Blaise Wilcenski on Tuesday in what will be a bullpen day. Wilcenski is 3-3 on the season with 25 strikeouts in 32 innings pitched. This will be his third start of the campaign.
Nicholls is scheduled to start RHP Dalton Hill. Hill is 2-4 on the season with a 7.07 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 35.2 innings pitched. This will be his 10th start of the season. Â

Nicholls is 15-26 on the season. The program lost 6-2 to Louisiana on Wednesday, April 23. The team had the rare weekend off and are coming into the game against Tulane well rested. The program has won three of the last five games including taking the series from Stephen F. Austin from April 17-19. Carter Jenkins leads the team with his .320 batting average on 33 hits. Karson Irvin has a team-high 49 hits and 35 runs plus a .318 batting average. Chase Jas sports a .318 batting average with 26 runs, 48 hits and three home runs. Jaden Collura has walked 25 times plus has 41 hits including eight doubles and 26 RBIs. Alec Sparks has been the top starter with a 4-3 record plus 56 strikeouts in 58 innings worked. Cole Simoneaux is the team's high leverage relief arm with 28 strikeouts in 27 innings worked plus a pair of saves. Brent Haring is in his first year as the head coach of the program.

Tulane leads the all-time series with Nicholls 68-27. The Green Wave defeated the Colonels in all three matchups last season including a 3-0 victory in the Corvallis Regional last June to eliminate Nicholls from the 2024 NCAA Regional. The program defeated the Colonels by a 13-3 score on Feb. 25 earlier this season and by a 9-5 score at home on March 11

The home game against Nicholls is the ninth of 10 games against the Southland Conference opponents this season for Tulane. The program is 4-4 this year against the conference and 307-166 all-time against current schools in the SLC.

The Tulane baseball team (26-18, 10-8 AAC) won the weekend conference series with a 7-2 road victory over East Carolina (25-19, 10-8 AAC) on Sunday afternoon, April 27, at Clark-LeClair Stadium.
Michael Lombardi got the start for Tulane and went the first 4.1 innings with one run allowed on four walks and three hits with five strikeouts. It was his third start of the season after 15 relief appearances and nine saves. Carter Benbrook (2-0) was the team's first reliever used. He quickly got out of two on one-out jam in the fifth inning and ended his day throwing 2.2 scoreless to earn his second win of the season. Will Clements was the team's third pitcher out of the bullpen. He threw the eighth and started the ninth before giving way to Tayler Montiel. Clements allowed a run on three hits and a walk. Montiel got the last three outs with one strikeout in the ninth to close it out.
Tanner Chun helped lead the offense with a pair of RBIs on a two-run home run. Connor Rasmussen had a pair of hits including a two-run home run to go along with three RBIs and two runs scored. Jason Wachs had a hit and a run scored. Hugh Pinkney picked up two hits and a run. James Agabedis III totaled a hit and a run scored. Gavin Schulz had a base hit and a run scored. Kaikea Harrison had the team's other hit.
Notables from the ECU Series
Tulane has now won six of the last seven games from ECU and improved the team's record to 19-20 all-time in Greenville and 42-37 all-time against the Pirates. Tulane improved the team's record to 8-3 in the third game of a weekend series. This was the first time that Tulane has taken a road series from ECU since 2012. Jason Wachs extended his hitting streak to a career-high nine straight games with his base hit in the third game of the series (4/27). The multiple RBI game in the series finale (4/27) was the ninth of the season for Connor Rasmussen. Tanner Chun has hit five of his team-leading eight home runs this season against conference foes. The two runs batted in for Gavin Schulz in the second game (4/26) was his sixth multi-RBI performance of the season. The nine runs scored by Tulane in the opening inning of the first game of the series (4/25) was the most since scoring 10 in the first inning against Texas Southern last season (4/2/24). Schulz Honored by the AAC
The Tulane baseball team (26-18, 10-8 AAC) saw Gavin Schulz named to the AAC's Weekly Honor Roll, the league office announced on Monday, April 28.
Schulz helped Tulane to a series road victory over East Carolina over the weekend. It was the program's first series win in Greenville since the 2012 campaign. Schulz led the Green Wave in most offensive categories on the weekend in hitting .417 with seven runs, five hits, two doubles, a pair of home runs, six RBIs, 13 total bases, a slugging percentage of 1.083 and an on-base percentage of .462. He hit safely in all three games, scored at least one run in every game on the weekend and plus had four of his five hits go for extra bases.
This season, Schulz is hitting .289 with 37 runs, 44 hits, 10 doubles, four home runs, 27 RBIs, 68 total bases, a .447 slugging percentage, 34 walks and an on-base percentage of .435.
This is the first weekly recognition for Schulz this season. Overall the program has been recognized by the conference eight times on the campaign.
