
Baseball Earns 8-4 Tuesday Victory Over Visiting Southeastern Louisiana

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane baseball team (20-18, 6-6 American) defeated Southeastern Louisiana (23-15) by an 8-4 score on Tuesday, April 14, on Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
LuisPablo Navarro (2-1) earned the win in throwing the first three innings with two runs allowed. Tom Vincent was the first reliever used and threw three innings with four strikeouts. Jacob Moore surrendered a run on two hits in his frame. Jude Abbadessa threw a scoreless eighth with a hit allowed. Sam Larson completed the game with a scoreless ninth with a hit and walk allowed.
Six different players were able to drive in at least one in the contest. Trent Liolios helped lead the offense for the Green Wave with two hits and runs scored. He also picked up an RBI. Kaikea Harrison drove in two runs, had a pair of walks and crossed the plate twice along with picking up a hit. Tye Wood had a hit, a walk, an RBI and two walks. Jason Wachs was hit by a pair of pitches and scored a run. Matthias Haas also was hit by multiple pitches to go along with a run scored and an RBI. Tanner Chun was hit by a pitch plus had a hit and an RBI. James Agabedis totaled a hit, an RBI, and a walk.
Tulane scored five in the opening inning. The first came in on a bases loaded RBI hit by pitch by Haas. The second was plated on a single to the opposite field by Lilios. The third, fourth and fifth came in to score on a pair of Southeastern throwing errors sandwiched around a bases loaded hit by pitch. The third run scored was a throwing error from the first baseman off the fielder's choice grounder by Harrison with the bases loaded to give him an RBI. Chun drove in the fourth tally with his bases loaded hit by pitch The fifth run came in on a throwing error from the Southeastern pitcher on a fielder's choice grounder hit back to him by Pinkney as he attempted to get the lead runner at the plate.
Southeastern's Luke Lirette (2-2) was tagged with the loss after allowing five runs in his inning of work.
Southeastern broke through for a pair of runs in the third inning, 5-2, on a two-run home run from Alex Perry.
Tulane picked up a run in the third inning, 6-2, on a Wood bases loaded walk.
The Green Wave added another run to the advantage in the fourth, 7-2, on a Harrison RBI single.
Southeastern got the tally back in the top of the fifth, 7-3, on a solo home run from Justin Williams
Williams struck again with his second home run of the day in the top of the seventh to close the gap to three, 7-4.
Tulane answered with a run in the seventh, 8-4, on an Agabedis RBI single to score Harrison in what would be the final score.
Next, Tulane gets on the road and back in conference play as the program travels to Boca Raton, Florida to take on Florida Atlantic (17-19, 4-8 American) this Friday – Sunday. The games are 5:30 p.m., 4 p.m. and 11 a.m.
