TAMPA – The Tulane baseball team (17-10, 2-3 AAC) lost the team's third straight game and the conference series with an 8-6 road loss to South Florida (15-9, 4-1 AAC) on Saturday afternoon, March 29, at USF Baseball Stadium.

Trey Cehajic started for the Green Wave and threw 3.1 innings with four runs allowed with a pair of walks and strikeouts. Will Clements (1-1) was the first reliever out of the bullpen for the Green Wave and surrendered three runs in 1.1 innings worked with two strikeouts. The win was earned by USF's Bryce Archie (3-1) as he threw four innings with three runs allowed and three strikeouts. Landen Yorek pitched a scoreless ninth for his third save of the season.
Tulane scored first as Rasmussen scored on a double play to give the Green Wave a 1-0 lead after the top half of the opening frame.
USF quickly took the advantage back in the bottom of the frame on a two-run double from Jackson Mayo.
The Green Wave tied the game up at two all in the second inning on Harrison's single to plate Pinkney.
The Bulls again took the lead back in the second on the RBI ground out from Ryan Pruitt.
The back-and-forth continued with Lombardi tying the game up at three with his RBI single to score Tanner Chun in the top of the third inning.
Tulane took the team's second lead of the game, 4-3, in the fourth inning on an RBI ground out from Jackson Linn.
USF tied the game up again in the bottom of the frame, 4-4, on the sacrifice bunt from Carlos Jacome.
The fifth inning saw the Bulls wrestle the lead back for good, 8-4, with all the damage coming with two outs as Rafael Betancourt pushed a single to left field to score a charging Mayo from second and Lance Trippel following with a three-run home run.
Tulane cut the deficit in half, 8-6, in the top of the sixth inning on the two-run single from Linn but that would be as close as the team would get despite threatening in the ninth.
